The Castelli Gabba RoS 2 Short Sleeve Jersey is the fifth iteration of the legendary weatherproof jersey/jacket that debuted in 2010 and caused a sensation in 2013, when the pro peloton bought Gabbas with their own money prior to a stormy Milan-San Remo.
This break from protocol came about because the pro riders recognised that this fully windproof and highly water-resistant garment would offer a performance advantage when racing in stormy conditions. Since that fateful spring classic, the Gabba has become a peloton staple, whether for foul weather racing or winter training, and although much imitated has never yet been bettered.
Except by Castelli themselves, that is. This second version is more water-resistant than ever, thanks to the use of two different GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ WINDSTOPPER® fabrics. At the front is a brushed material with a water treatment, while at the back the fabric is stretchy and breathable, so that the jacket fends off rain and fights sweat build-up with equal skill.
This new Gabba RoS has further been improved by an extra pocket for added storage space, better reflectivity at the back, a two-way zip for better temperature control, and rethought placement of the taped shoulder seams for better rain protection.
For over a decade now the Gabba has been keeping professional and amateur cyclists warm, without allowing them to overheat, while foul weather racing or training in spring and autumn. Typically worn over a sleeveless base layer and jersey, its usefulness can be extended by pairing it with arm warmers and a thermal jersey as the cold starts to bite.
Wear the unmistakable Castelli Gabba RoS 2 not only to keep your core warm, but to proclaim your allegiance to the world of cycling.
