Made up of two slender layers, with a furry insulation layer that offers a surprising amount of warmth for its thickness and weight, reinforced by a shiny, wind resistant outer layer with a DWR treatment, it will deflect road spray and keep you cosy as you ride.

There’s no boil-in-the-bag effect here, though, thanks to breathable side panels and rear pockets made of stretch woven fabric, which will let heat and sweat escape while being flexible enough to accommodate a lunch or cake stop. There’s also a small, zipped valuables pocket at the side.

The whole thing will pack down easily into a jersey pocket, but can also carry quite a few spares, layers and gels itself in its own two roomy back pockets and zippered valuables pocket.
