At DASH, in line with our mission to get more people cycling, we’ve spent a lot of time thinking about how we can make Cycle to Work simpler and more accessible for employees. We use the legislation in a unique way which sets us apart from existing providers. Here’s how:
Traditional scheme providers like Cyclescheme and Cycle2Work are set up so that in order for an employee to get a bike they have to:
- Choose what they want;
- Submit an application for the value;
- Wait for approval and payment by their employer;
- Collect an ‘e-certificate’;
- Exchange this for their chosen goods;
- Pay over 12 months via salary sacrifice;
- Sign an extended use agreement.
What this means for the employee is that they have a very awkward purchase journey which is unfamiliar and confusing, leaving many to be put off from using the scheme entirely.
And for the employer, they have to fork out the money upfront (which a lot of small companies are unable to do), or introduce a cap to prevent employees from accessing equipment above a certain price, such as e-bikes.
That’s why we’ve created the DASH platform, to bring everything into one place, and make Cycle to Work easy-to-use for employees and employers alike. We want to ensure that:
- Employees have a more natural, straightforward purchase journey
- Employers have no upfront costs or financing agreements
So that everyone benefits from a far better user experience.
Once an employer is set up with DASH, all eligible employees are given immediate access to our platform with their work email address. From there, it’s as easy as 1-2-3:
- Register by setting a password;
- Choose your bike and plan length;
- Checkout and sign your agreement.
All orders go straight to the employer for approval and then DASH gets to work sending the bike directly to the employee.
What’s more is that since we provide subscriptions, we’re able to introduce an element of flexibility to something that has traditionally been very inflexible. With DASH, employees can choose how long they want to commit for, and then return it later on if they wish.
We know that purchasing an e-bike is a big investment for most people, especially someone who might only want to try cycling. This is why we offer short-term subscriptions: to give people an opportunity to try an e-bike, even just for a month.
We’ve set up our platform in such a way that there is no upfront cost to employers. We’ll only ever charge you once an employee has their bike, and even then we’ll only charge you the monthly rate after you’ve recovered the fee from your employee. Here’s how it works:
Setup: During registration, you (the employer) choose a date on which you want to receive details about employee deductions. We typically suggest a couple of days before your payroll closing date.
First Order: Once your employee has placed their order, you’ll receive a notification to log in to your DASH account and check their application. Once the order is approved, we get to work sending the employee their chosen bike.
After delivery, on your chosen date, we’ll tell you how much to deduct from the employee’s gross pay for that month’s payroll, along with an invoice.
Payment: We collect payment of the invoice via direct debit at the start of the following month, such that you’ll have already received the money from your employee before paying DASH.
Hence the employer pays for the equipment after the employee, leaving no drain on working capital. Easy!
No catch - just Cycle to Work made simple, for everyone.
Meet your new commute.
Yours from £29/month.
